Chilton: WoW team not averse to consoles
But no console MMO just yet
Speaking at last week's Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany, World of Warcraft developer Tom Chilton has told Videogamer.com that his team are certainly not fundamentally against console development.
This being the case, Chilton reiterated what he told us, namely that we shouldn't hope to see a release of the massive MMO on lounge boxes anytime soon.
"It’s really not that we have anything against consoles," the lead designer assured.
"I mean we love console games also. And I’m sure there will be a successful MMO sometime on a console. So it has nothing to do with that. It’s just more like a square peg round hole thing for our game. It just wasn’t designed with that in mind."
Apparently, issues with controls mean that a simple port of the title is impossible, Blizzard aware that the keyboard-mouse combo works best for their game. That said, the commercial pressures to do this title must be huge.

Come on... the xbox has two usb ports, surely they could make it mouse and keyboard compatible! I have a keyboard attached to mine just for messaging as do many of my mates... its a big revenue they are missing out on.
