Sony Computer Entertainment officially unveiled Savage Moon during the Games Convention in Leipzig, and now they're slowly beginning to fill us in on what will be a strategy-focussed PSN-distributed offering.

A sci-fi themed (early images are reminiscent of Starship Troopers) "tower defense" game is mooted, players tasked with protecting key human mining facilities from a seemingly unstoppable onslaught of alien bug beasties.

A variety of weapons will be at your disposal, and you'll need to employ mixed tactics to keep your structures secure.

The game is out in the autumn.
