Konami back GamesCOM in Cologne
Thank Leipzig for past glories
Japanese publishing giant Konami have thanked the organisers of the Games Convention in Leipzig for their successes over the years, and have confirmed their attendance at 2009's rival GamesCOM event in Cologne.
The statement was made over the weekend by German boss Martin Schneider, who said GC had represented an enormously "positive time", which coincided with huge industry growth.
That said, the publisher are now looking to GamesCOM in 2009 - the firm the first to back the rival show created by German trade body the BIU. GC will go ahead in 2009, but this rival Cologne event looks like it could be garnering strong support if this is an indication.
More as we get it.
