With Leipzig's Games Convention likely to face a little competition next year from a rival expo in Cologne, the organisers are setting their sights on show growth elsewhere.

The convention could head over to North America as part of its new ambitions, and this follows in the wake of another disappointing year for E3 - with that show under-fire from seemingly every angle.

GC, meanwhile, was regarded as a huge success, pulling-off the tricky task of mixing a consumer event with a business event.

"The concept is flexible and the network of the global games industry permits us to be active at different locations. After the Southeast Asian Games Convention, we are now focusing on the North American market," let slip Leipzig Messe boss Wolfgang Marzin.

We'll bring you more on this as we get it.
