Fable 2 casual games loom

Ready your gold stash

Word has it that the casual-style pub games that comprise a part of Fable 2, allowing you to earn in-game currency from playing games beyond the core RPG experience, will begin arriving this August, ahead of the full title's debut in the autumn.

The mini-games will begin arriving on the Live Arcade next month, with Lionhead giving early access to those pre-ordering Fable 2.

Pre-orderers get the games free, or you can buy them alone for 800 Microsoft Points.

"The final names of the Xbox LIVE Arcade Fable II Pub Games (which will be available as one download) are: Keystone, which is a combination of Craps and Roulette, Spinnerbox, which is an updated take on slot machines, and Fortune’s Tower, which is a press your luck style of game," explains the developer.

"The download will also include a Shell, which is a tutorial of all three games."

More on this as we get it.

what are your thoughts?

  1. How will they know who has pre-ordered and who has not? Surely you could also pre-order it, get the arcade games for free and then cancel the pre-order (not that I would do that because I am looking forward to Fable 2 a lot).

Will be interesting to see how it will all work... also won't being able to win gold outside the core game mean some players will have an easier time than those that don't have the arcade games? It's all a bit confusing to me!! lol
