Fixes, fixes, fixes
Sony Computer Entertainment were forced to pull their long-awaited 2.40 firmware update for the PS3 last week after it emerged the trophy/in-game XMB adding patch was causing system crashes.
We today hear rumour that a 2.41 patch is being crafted that will fix the crashing problem and usher in all the long-awaited improvements.
Chit-chat also points to a release this week, although Sony are refusing to confirm the existence of the patch, or indeed when it'll be released.
Technical support at Sony have apparently been telling callers that the update is in-bound, but nothing official has been offered up to the irate masses just yet. We'll keep our noses to the ground.
I'm running update 2.40 and never had any problems.
