Codies apologise for server reset
Codemasters recently undertook a reset of ranks across all Race Driver: GRID servers, after widespread cheating emerged. Sadly, a number of non-cheating gamers were also rather upset by the loss of their statuses, Codemasters explaining this week.
"Given the number of reports we've had of people abusing the ranking system to get unfair ranks, it was only fair that we did a reset," explained Codies community boss Rich Tysoe.
"It's never an easy decision to make, and we'd rather it hadn't come to this, but changes in the patch should make gaining those ranking points back fairer.
"We'd like to think that people play online for the fun of it, not so much the amassing of points, but if you find yourself in this sort of situation, it's the fairest solution."
Only online ranking leaderboards for Live are impacted. A previous glitch had been exploited by some nefarious types.
