Eat your heart out New Xbox Experience, Sony have today unleashed a rash of new features via Playstation.com, the firm introducing the spangly MyPSN offering.

MyPSN lets players track their friends online, creating a portable ID to carry between events. The ID includes an Avatar, your mood, console details, et al, and it can be used as a forum signature as well.

Trophies and achievements will be reported via MyPSN in the future, and you can register now via the official website and tell Sony which of their consoles you presently own.

Sony appear to have initiated this update in a bid to catch up with Xbox.com, which already does for 360 gamers what MyPSN offers to PlayStation-types. We'll keep you posted as this service evolves.
