7 million Wiis sold in Japan

Sales now slowing down in the East

Kotaku are picking up on an announcement that 7 million Wiis have now been sold in Japan.

Now, 7 million of anything is certainly an impressive number, but the trend that has been identified is that Wii sales are slowing down significantly.

Since it's release in December 2006, Nintendo's console sold around 5 million units in the first twelve months.

The Wii has clearly not sold as well in recent months, but let's see if good old Father Christmas can deliver a sales boost.
